ATI Eyefinity shown with 5760x2400 resolution

ATI doesnt give much explanation to upcoming DX11 graphics,it just put emphasis on ATI Eyefinity technology,which will enable people to hook up at least three (and up to six) monitors to one card.

ATI utilizes six screens for multi-tasking at a 5760x2400 resolution. Tom Clancys: H.A.W.X. game is shown.ATI says that ATI Eyefinity is applied in upcoming DX11 series graphics,the lowest model of which can connect at least 3 monitors via Display Port 1.1 interface.DX11 GPU integrates six DisplayPort output channels.

ATI Eyefinity supports Windows Vista/7 and Linux OS.Users just open Single Large Surface option of control panel,they can get wider view and share unprecedented gaming experience.

Six screens and HAWX at 5760x2400


ATI has decided to show the world a glimpse of its new ATI Eyefinity technology and what it can do. This is an interesting next generation 3D gaming card that can get single system for multi-tasking on six screens.

Six separate screens can run Tom Clancy's: H.A.W.X. game at impressive resolution of 5760x2400 and it takes a lot of horse power to be able to pull this off . When you consider the fact that a single HD 4890 1GB gives about 47 FPS at 2560x1600 without AA then Eyefinity is one mean graphics card.

Of course, we still don't know which card ATI was used for this, but we suspect that RV870, Radeon HD 5870 generation chip is under the hood. The only fact that we know for sure is that this card delivers an amazing 5760x2400 resolution to six monitors via Display Port 1.1 interface.




AMD's Simon Solotko, Senior Advanced Marketing Manager spreads usage of ATI Eyefinity into two different groups, the Immersive, Panoramic Personal Computing, and the so called Crowd Computing. In the first case ATI Eyefinity can be used to either project different tasks on various number of displays or use all six as a single large display.



The second one, means that you can use a single computer to deliver various experience for a group or even groups of people. For example, one can watch a movie on two displays, others can do whatever they like on other four.

It sounds cool, but we are not sure who would need and want something like this.
